Melt HeArt

with all of the Valentines challenges around I was inspired to make this tag card.

I was particularly inspired by the http://rangerink.com/february-color-palette-inspiration-contest/ and would like to enter this plus the Inspration Emporiums february challenge.  as I used WOW embossing powders to make the hearts I'd also like to enter this months Romance and Love challenge.

To make the card I first cut out the key from chipboard and painted it with tattered rose distress crackle paint.

I next set my melt pot to heat up with some clear embossing powder in it.

I then cut out the tag and a second hinged tag for the base of the card.  I distressed the cards with picked raspberry distress ink then took an old Dyane Reavely heart stamp and spritzed it with water before stamping randomely on the card.  I then blotted off the water to reveal lighter areas.

I used a background stamp from creative expressions and stamped randomly with aged mahogany and tattered rose.  I stamped the hearts with aged mahogany.

Once the embossing powder was melted I added some WOW mahogany powder to the pot and swirled slightly then sprinkled in some pink mica powder (perfect pearls).  I then poured the molten liquid into a heart shaped cookie cutter.

I also played with dipping chipboard heart shapes and poured the remaining mixture onto one of the shapes to use in another project.
