WOW embossing powder January Colour Challenge

I'd like to enter the following valentines card into the wow embossing powder january challenge

The card is on A4 cardstock.  On the black layer I roughed up the edges and embossed them with clear embossing powder before layering overa piece of black and cream cardstock.  I cut a piece of coredinations about two inches narrower than the card and cut out the hearts with a sizzix cut and emboss die, I then embossed the hearts.  I embossed all over the card with an embossing folder, then cut the left hand edge with spellbinders edgeabilities saving the strip which is down the very LH side of the card.  I wiped a versamark pad over the raised areas of the red embossed card and hearts and used clear embossing powder on those areas.  I added a ruffled ribbon and some spellbinders leaves and a flower over a double bow.  My husband says it looks like a card for someone who died from a heart attack, I hope you don't agree with him!

With love

I've been playing with Spellbinders and the Mckenzie collection from Kanban.

This second card doesn't have quite the same feeling of luxury but it's a little different to my usual style.  I used distress inks on all the cardstock to take out some of the bright creaminess of it.

I especially like the shadow effect created by glueing some of the pieces over the same shape but in black. I was tempted to add more bling but I think the paper is fussy enough so think I'll leave as is, hopefully this one is just the starting point for more experimenting.

New Year

I was lucky to receive a few crafty bits for Christmas so my first cards of the new year had to be made using them.  I had help initially from my niece Andonia, but, still managed to sneak in her birthday card as well as her mums.  Andonia has a twin brother so further down the page is his card.  It's a busy time of the year birthday wise in our family with my daughter, grandson and grandaughter all sharing the first week in February so scoll down to see their cards too.

The first four cards are all made with Craftworkcards botanicals papers and embellishments, it doesnt show so well in the pictures but the papers all have a beautiful pearlised finish.
